Alpha Home

Medical clinics are held at the Usatine Wellness Center every Monday and Wednesday evening (5:30 –8:30 pm). Once a month, the Wednesday clinic is staffed by a UT psychiatrist along with a family physician.

The clinics serve only the women of Alpha Home, a non-profit, long-term substance abuse recovery center. Established in 1966, Alpha Home is the only women-specific drug treatment program in Bexar County and draws clients from all over the state.

Volunteer Cancellation Policy

Please note that the cancellation policy for student volunteers is as follows: we understand things happen and situations come up. However, it is very difficult to provide the best care for these families short-handed, which is why we enforce a strict cancellation policy.

You may cancel your volunteer session so long as you do so > 48 hours before your scheduled shift.

Should you cancel after the 48-hour period, you MUST find a replacement and notify the student leader as soon as possible. Failure to comply will place you on one-month probation from all clinics.
