ENGAGED

UT Health San Antonio students can register to volunteer at each designated clinic on Engaged. Due to liability insurance requirements, only UT Health San Antonio students can volunteer at the Student Faculty Collaborative Practice clinics.

UT Health San Antonio’s Student Faculty Collaborative Practice (aka Student-Run Free Clinic Program) is a collaborative effort between learners and faculty from UT Health San Antonio working in partnership with several community partners.

These partners include Alpha Home, Haven for Hope, Alamo Area Resource Center (AARC), St. Francis Episcopal Church, Travis Park Methodist Church and San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries (SAMM).

Learners include students from the schools of medicine, nursing, dentistry, dental hygiene, physical therapy, physician assistant, and medical residents of various specialties. Health science students & residents gain vital experience in primary care, public health, community service, and health care administration while serving others.

The clinics serve as a unique interdisciplinary educational setting where students learn from their peers, mentors and their patients. The care provided to these vulnerable communities is greatly needed and warmly appreciated.  Clinics occur in the evenings, weekly or biweekly as following:

Volunteer Students can sign up for upcoming clinic dates & times, under the Clinic Calendars link on each clinic’s page.

Thank you for volunteering your time and effort to care for the vulnerable in our community!
